An ageing bounty hunter captures a wanted murderer, who happens to be the brother of the man who murdered his wife many years earlier, and takes the opportunity to use him as bait to finally gain vengeance upon him; his plan is complicated, however, by two reforming outlaws, intent upon winning amnesty for their past crimes, and a beautiful, recently widowed damsel-in-distress, who he soon has tagging along with him, in Boetticher’s diverting and visually distinctive revenge western, which is let down somewhat by Roemheld’s rather unsophisticated score.
